Jeff Bateson got involved with Convene Communities when he was invited as an event speaker. Over time, he has been involved with various communities inside Convene and helped create Uniquely Yours, a parenting community.
Using Convene as a Teacher
As a Civics and World History teacher, he’s passionate about impacting students’ lives beyond academics. Jeff introduced the Convene Writing Community in the classroom, initially as a brain break and later as part of a meaningful project. In one inspiring experience, students wrote about their identities using the prompt “I am from.” Convene’s anonymity feature allowed them to share personal experiences, fostering peer-to-peer learning and creating a shared understanding and support moment.
Using Convene as a Soccer Coach
As a soccer coach, Jeff uses Convene Soccer for education and coaching. He creates discussion boards for players to analyze short video clips and learn from game scenarios in a private group for his players. The platform’s flexibility allows for various applications beyond traditional education. Convene’s interactive approach differentiates it from other educational platforms that rely solely on videos.
Jeff plans to launch a program focusing on growth mindset where he will leveraging personal stories and discussions. Convene’s capacity for peer-to-peer learning and ongoing mentorship through continuous engagement in discussion boards, blogs, and interactions is key to its success.
The 12-week coaching program Convene offers can play a crucial role in helping individuals organize content, refine strategies, and gain confidence. Past participants have experienced transformative growth within their communities.
Matthew Currin, founder of Convene, emphasizes the importance of mentorship, group interaction, and individual guidance in the coaching program. Success stories include Laurel’s evolution from wanting a simple platform for two training modules to running a franchise-type business model. This exemplifies Convene’s scalability and potential for growth. The collaborative and networking nature of Convene Communities allows groups the opportunity to learn from each other rather than view each other as competitors.
The adaptability and collaborative spirit of Convene Communities make it different from other platforms as it offers a place to foster growth, mentorship, and meaningful connections across diverse topics and fields.
