Everyone has stories to share, even if you are only in your early twenties. The teen years can be a time to learn important lessons, and Brayden shares his experience playing soccer.
Working hard to reach a goal
Always fighting uphill to overcome a size disadvantage, Brayden didn’t give up but instead worked harder towards his dream of playing college soccer. His drive got results and led to his playing in the State Championship in high school, being recruited to play college soccer, and leading the team as Captain for 2 years.
Making a change isn’t failing
After college graduation, Brayden landed that coveted, hard-to-get first job. He was extremely successful and loved the people he worked with, but found himself really struggling with the long hours required. He discusses how he made the hard decision to transition to another job. He felt he was quitting for the first time in his life, and struggled with the feeling that he was letting everyone down. Quitting felt like failing. After a lot of self-reflection, he realized he had to make a change. Now he works for a company that has boundaries set that clearly separate work from home, and he is more successful because he is happier.
Convene is all about sharing our stories.
Your story can help someone not feel alone, and your experience can inspire someone to take an action they might not have taken.
